The training algorithm:

I’m Principal Search Scientist in Moz, Russ Jones, and I am excited to announce a upgrade month that is coming to one of the main metrics Moz provides: Domain Authority.
What follows is an account of some of the technical changes behind the Domain Authority that is new and why they matter.
We’ve relied on training Domain Authority from an large collection of search results. This has been the methodology across our industry. But we’ve found a way to improve it upon from the ground up, making Domain Authority more reliable. In particular, the new Domain Authority is better at understanding sites that don’t rank for any keywords at all than it has previously.
Domain Authority has been the industry standard for measuring the strength of a domain. We recognize that stability plays an significant role so we wanted to be sure that significant changes were brought by the new Domain Authority .
At the heart of Domain Authority is the industry link indicator, our Moz Link Explorer. With over 35 trillion links, the work that is statistical that is brilliant turns into a industry leading standard by Neil Martinsen-Burrell and so many more amazing Mozzers.

The version factors:

These basic improvements to Domain Authority will provide a better, metric that is more trustworthy than ever before. We can eliminate spam, enhance correlations, and, most importantly, upgrade Domain Authority relative to the changes that Google makes.
Rather than relying on a complicated linear model, we have made the switch. This provides several benefits.
It means you will see some changes whenever the launch occurs. We staked the version to our Domain Name Authority which reduces changes, but with the improvements there will be some fluctuation in Domain Authority scores across the board.
